Blood pressure is defined as the stress the arteries undergo during the circulation of blood through them and to different organs and tissues. High blood pressure is formally termed hypertension. It is usually found in persons who are prone to higher stress levels.

Measurement of blood pressure is taken using a device which uses mercury. Systolic and diastolic pressures are two main measurements.

These are the maximum and minimum pressure during the blood's circulation through the arteries. The average mean value of blood pressure is usually 120/80 mm Hg.

Any change in the value of the average measurement is defined as either high blood pressure or low blood pressure. There are different reasons why a person is undergoing stress which in turn will lead to adrenaline rush causing increase in the pressure of blood circulation.

A person should take care of blood pressure increases and control the same to reduce their risk of other ailments which are related to blood pressure. Increase in blood pressure leads to stress on the heart. It may lead to a heart attack and stroke.
