What are Mold Allergies?

Damp places are usually thrived with the little things seen only by microscope, known as mold spores. No matter of the small size of mold spores are though they may still be very dangerous for the people who are allergic on them and potentially they can even be deadly.

Airborne allergens are the most common cause of the allergies. These mold spores may be found on the walls and surfaces but they may also spread in the air. People who are allergic to the mold will experience reaction to them much easier from breathing mold spores in the air than people who are not allergic to them.

For majority of the people pollen is the most common cause of the allergy, but research shows that mold allergies are the quite common. This is because pollen allergies are more seasonal such as ragweed during the fall, cedar fever in winter, grass and certain flowers in spring. When it is mold allergy there aren't seasonal aspects involved with the mold spores affecting you and creating the allergy symptoms.

Mold spores may effect on you in the night, while pollens normally affect people during the day when sunlight dries the pollen and wind spread it in the air. Mold on the other hand doesn't tolerate sunlight and you find it in sheltered, normally darker places. This means that it is as likely to affect you in the night time as during the day. The process by which mold spreads is called sporulation which is different from pollen's pollination.

The period from two a.m. is most likely period for the occurrence of the mold in the air. This is because in that period, spores are go out of your air condition and spread in the house.

There are few phases of a person's reaction to the spreading of mold and the allergies it causes when it gets into your body:

- The first phase is swelling in the mucus membrane.
- Second is followed with the release of the adrenaline, which is also known as emergency allergy hormone.

For controlling of your allergy reaction to molds, there are some methods and steps that you should to follow. The first step is to recognize the triggers of mold. Once you recognize that you are reacting to presence of mold or similar trigger for your allergy then you can deal with how and when to avoid them.

If this is an ongoing problem for you then it is a good idea to have blood tests to confirm that it actually is mold that is triggering your allergic reaction. This is a good idea as it gives you a definate starting place to begin to sort out a solution to your problem. There is some difficulty in doing that analysis as there are various mutants of molds with some being airborne and others pickup up from surface contact. If you do the work though to find out what your specific problem is then you will have a better idea if you need to be looking at your air conditioning or paying attention particularly to anywhere that is damp and dark where the mold could be occurring.

Here are a few of the places where mold spores are generating:

• Leaks places and damp areas
• Carpets, beds, dust, etc
• Air condition systems
• Poor filters, etc

It is interesting to mention that your car is
also a very good location for mold to breed and thrive. There is research which shows that people who are suffering from the mold are quite often picking up that mold from their car. Usually it is attributed to leaky windows or doors.
