Three Fast Weight Loss Principles

We live in an instant gratification society. No one wants to lose weight slowly, we want fast weight loss.

While many products on the market may promise instant weight loss results, there are three weight loss principles that will get you steady results that will actually last.

These three weight loss principles are exercise, diet, and water intake.

The standard advice regarding these three areas will get you results, however, if you intensify these efforts you will speed up your progress.

Weight Loss Principle #1- Everyone knows that exercise is an important part of losing weight.

However, when you combine high intensity exercise with a low calorie diet you will dramatically increase your results.

For the fastest progress, you will need to exercise for at least one hour a day, and you need to be doing high intensity workouts.

Some good choices for mega fat burning include running, using an elliptical machine, cardio kickboxing, and spinning.

These four exercise will burn around 1000 calories in one hour. Compare this with walking for one hour and you will have a 700-800 calorie difference.

Do this high intensity workout five times a week and you will be looking at slightly under a 1.5 pound loss from a 5000 calorie deficit.

It takes a 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 pound of fat.

Weight Loss Principle #2- Let's talk about your diet. In order to get the biggest punch out of your fast weight loss routine you need to be on a lower calorie diet.

Try to keep your calories in the 1200-1500 a day range and you will be on the road to success.

If you want to kick your success up a notch experiment with a lower carb diet.

Eat lean proteins like chicken, turkey and fish, combined with lower glycemic vegetables like salads, steamed broccoli or green beans, etc.

One or two servings of fruit as well as a small serving of legumes will not hamper your progress.

Sticking to a lower carb diet, even if only for one or two weeks will give you a quick loss than can give you momentum to keep going.

To continue meeting your nutritional goals, aim for at least 6-8 servings of fruits and vegetables per day.

Weight Loss Principle #3- Flush that fat out and keep your appetite satisfied with more water.

Conventional wisdom tells us to drink 6-8 eight ounce glasses of water a day.

If you really want to accelerate you weight loss, however, you need to be drinking between 96-128 ounces a day which is 3-4 quarts.

Drinking more water will help flush out the toxins creating by burning fat and exercising as well as keep you from getting hungry.

Drinking more water will also help with bad breath sometimes associated with weight loss.

Fitness expert Jack Lalanne once said “Exercise is king, nutrition is queen, but together you have the entire kingdom!” Truer words in regards to weight loss have never been spoken.

If you want to lose weight you either need to eat less or exercise more. However if you combine the two you will be unstoppable.

Fast weight loss is within your grasp if you are willing to apply the three basic principles.
