There's a fascinating phenomenon experienced by many overweight and obese people. Once they begin to lose the weight and get healthy, they peer back at pictures of themselves at their highest weight and they are shocked. They say they never realized they were that big. They never realized how much they had let their health go. You might question how any obese person could look in the mirror and never see themselves as they actually are. To use your body mass index calculator, you will have to know your height in feet and inches and your weight in pounds. Put this basic information into the fields of an online calculator and you will instantly call at your BMI score.

The perfect range is a BMI score between 18 and 24. If you achieve over 24 you are a minimum of overweight and as the number climbs you can be potentially obese. If you are below 18, you are underweight and could probably use a few more pounds.

Wherever you score on the BMI calculator, keep in mind that you can always fix your weight. This is not a lasting score that you're tied to forever. If you do find that you are fat, focus on how much over the 24 mark you happen to be and set goals for steady and consistent weight reduction.
