Simple and Healthy Diet Treats


You find that you like to eat a lot in between meals. Rather than crave for all those unhealthy treats, you could go for one that’s healthy for you.

So, here is a list of amazing options that you could look into the next time you hear your stomach grumble and complain.

This can actually help you when you age because your metabolism won’t be like how it was when you were a teenager. Now, any little binge could actually settle on your hips.

1. Frozen chocolate milk.
The cold temperature of this shake-like mixture may help you burn a few extra calories during digestion, and its protein satiates you. It’s a cinch to make as well. Throw a handful of ice into a blender with half a cup of skim milk and 2 tablespoons of light chocolate syrup.

2. Pita chips and salsa.
Spicy salsa is loaded with capsaicin, a compound found in chili peppers that turbo-charges your metabolism. Eat it with ten pieces of whole wheat pita chips instead of the tortilla counterpart, since they have fewer calories and have more fiber. The snack will set you back only 150 calories.

3. Oatmeal.
When a craving for creamy comfort food hits, pack a package of instant flavored oatmeal into the microwave. Each has about 100 calories of belly-filling oat grains and fiber.

4. Whole wheat pizza.
The pizza parlor kind has a white-flour crust, and research links consumption of white flour products to extra belly fat. But, try out mouth-watering whole wheat pizzas from health stores. You get a healthy pizza with all the goodies that have been freshly cooked. These come prepared without oil too.

5. Fat-free yogurt.
This trendy, tangy, and portable snack is high in protein and low in sugar, and some brands have fewer than 80 calories in a single-serving container. A recent study, in fact, found that people who ate three servings a day had a healthier body weight than those who didn’t eat yogurt at all.

6. Fruit muesli bars.
Besides the fact that you can easily tote these things around, muesli bars are the perfect snack anytime, anywhere. Each whole-grain bar is high in fiber and has only less than 100 calories, and many brands offer different varieties. You can have yours with nuts, honey, cinnamon, or even dried fruit.

7. Nuts.
Don’t let the fact that nuts high on fat scare you. The monounsaturated kind keeps your heart healthy and is filling. And, your body burns calories just to digest all that protein. Keep your daily intake to a quarter of a cup, which costs you just less than 200 calories.

8. Omelette.
Whisk together four egg whites and a yolk with sliced peppers or tomatoes, and cook in a skillet over medium heat. The result would be a healthy, flavorful snack under 150 calories. Most of the protein in eggs is found in the whites, and this plays a big part in boosting your metabolism.

These delicious and simple healthy diet treats will keep you satisfied as well as killing your cravings for sweets or fatty junk foods.
