Pros and Cons of the GOLO Diet

The GOLO Diet has become more popular over the last few years. It is a diet plan that claims to help you to lose weight through insulin management. This is claimed to help restore your hormonal balance and repair your metabolism.

To lose weight on the GOLO Diet you will need to:

● Reduce your calorie intake to a daily figure between 1,300 and 1,800.

● Exercise for at least 15 minutes of HIT (high-intensity training) daily.

● Use the GOLO Release supplement. This is a supplement that contains proven ingredients that include magnesium, zinc, and chromium amongst others. This supplement is free of gluten and all major allergens.

Remember, speak to your doctor before trying any new supplement or medication.

With this diet plan you should be eating whole foods, so processed and refined foods should be avoided. You should also avoid foods that contain added sugars and sweeteners.

The four “fuel groups” of the GOLO Diet are:

1. Protein sources, including lean meat, poultry, seafood, dairy products, nuts and eggs. Pork is acceptable but avoid pork sausage if it contains added ingredients.

2. Carbohydrates, including whole grains, beans, fruit and starchy vegetables.

3. Fats, including those with healthy fats, such as seeds like chia, hemp and flax. Use oils like olive and coconut oil.

4. Vegetables, to include green vegetables like broccoli and zucchini.

Aim to eat three balanced meals daily, with each meal containing at least one portion from each of the “fuel groups.” One capsule of the release supplement should be taken either during or after each meal.

Pros Of The GOLO Diet

These are some pros to the GOLO diet:

1. You will be eating whole foods. These foods are nutrient-dense, so are low in calories but packed with vital vitamins and minerals.

2. This diet encourages exercise. Exercise is an important aspect of any diet plan.

3. Weight loss is likely. The science behind this diet plan is sound. If you cut your current calorie intake and undertake regular exercise, then you are going to naturally create a calorie deficit and lose weight.

4. Flexibility. The diet can be modified to fit special dietary needs or preferences.

Cons of the GOLO Diet

Cons of the GOLO diet include:

1. Lack of proof. While there are user testimonials available onsite these may not be unbiased. To prove the effectiveness of a diet plan then you will need to look for a peer-reviewed study. Unfortunately, this is not available.

2. Expensive. The monthly price for this diet plan is $50. The majority of this cost is to pay for the supplement, which may not even be needed.

3. The information provided may be confusing. This diet plan is not as simple as you would hope and sometimes uses confusing terminology. For example, you will need to eat foods based on their “metabolic fuel matrix”.

4. The supplement may not be necessary. If you follow the diet plan alone then you are likely to gain weight. While the ingredients in the supplement may aid your efforts, you are not going to see huge differences to your results.

Is the Golo Diet for You?

Having looked at the pros and cons of the GOLO Diet, you may be wondering if it is worth trying yourself.

While there are benefits to this plan, there are issues, as well, that you may want to think about. Consider both the pros and cons, so you can make an informed decision.

Top 10 Tips To Prevent Sabotaging Your Diet

Everyone who starts a diet will feel the need to cheat from time to time. Dieting can be tough, but there are ways to make it easier.

We often stack the deck against ourselves and don’t even realize it.

Since sticking to a diet can be so challenging, it only makes sense to give yourself every possible advantage by removing, or planning for, the most likely obstacles.

Use these tips to stick to your diet and experience success:

1. Keep foods out of the house that don’t fit your diet plans.

You can’t eat it if it’s not in your house. Get it out before it creates a challenge. Go through your refrigerator and pantry and identify all the foods you shouldn’t eat. Give it all away.

2. Drink lots of water.

We often eat because we’re thirsty, especially items like fruit, which contain a lot of water. Water is also filling if you drink enough of it.

A tall, cool, glass of water every couple of hours is healthy and filling.

3. Stall.

When you have the urge to eat something you know you shouldn’t, don’t give in right away. Just sit and relax. Give it a few minutes. You’ll often find that the urge goes away.

4. Focus on your health.

Eating something that’s unhealthy feels great in the short-term. One way to give yourself a long-term focus is to make your health a priority.

You’ll be less likely to sabotage yourself if you’re thinking long-term.

5. Avoid cutting back too far.

Those unwanted pounds probably took years to accumulate. Give yourself some time to get rid of them.

There’s a lot of evidence that losing weight quickly is a poor long-term strategy. Cutting your calories too much will also make you much more likely to sabotage your diet.

6. Weigh or measure food.

A serving of pasta is less than you think. Food scales are inexpensive. So are measuring cups and spoons. Ensure that you understand how much you’re actually eating. You might be surprised how far off you are.

7. Avoid overdramatizing mistakes.

A diet doesn’t have to be perfect to be effective. A mistake is just a temporary setback. Shake it off and accept that mistakes happen from time to time.

8. Make fiber your friend.

Fiber is healthy and filling. Most people don’t get enough fiber. You can make it a point to eat foods high in fiber or take a fiber supplement.

A high-fiber meal is very satiating, and the feeling lasts for quite a while.

9. Avoid eating out.

Many fast food restaurants don’t have a good selection of healthy options. Restaurants can be a healthy dining option, but it’s very easy to make a significant mistake.

10. Get some exercise.

Exercise is useful in a few ways. It decreases your appetite. It helps to burn some calories. It makes it more painful to cheat on your diet.

Knowing that you worked hard to burn 300 calories on the exercise bike will make you less likely to undo all that hard work by eating poorly.

Stop sabotaging yourself! You really are your own worst enemy. Dieting is a challenging endeavor, but most of us make it much harder than it needs to be.

Use these tips to stack the odds in your favor. You can be a successful dieter!
