Outer Nutrition - LOVE THE SKIN YOU’RE IN
Your skin is the body’s largest organ. It weights between two & four kilos, covers between one & two square metres & completely renews itself every seven to ten weeks, with approximately five million dead skin cells rubbing off on a daily basis.
Your skin reflects your state of health and your biological age, being soft and smooth when well-cared for, or dry and flaky when taken for granted.
To be the proud owner of beautiful, soft, younger-looking skin, you need to take care of it.
When taking care of your skin, it’s vital that you take care of the part of you that everybody sees - your face and neck.
The absolute golden rule, before you start using products on the delicate skin of your face, is to determine your skin type…
Normal and Combination skin - Slight oily sheen in the T-zone area, Drier cheek area, Occasional pimples & spots
Dry and Sensitive Skin - Fine, dry lines around the eyes and mouth, dehydration lines on the face, cheek area is dull, dry and taut, skin that is very sensitive to sun, wind and pollution
Oily Skin - Oily sheen in T-zone area and on cheeks, enlarged pores and blackheads evident, frequent pimples and spots
THE BASICS… Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise
We all need to cleanse our face and neck, morning and night! The day’s accumulation of dead skin cells, sweat and make-up mixed with atmospheric grime, clogs up your pores and results in a dull and lifeless appearance.
Why is it necessary to tone my skin after cleansing? Toner is used to remove the last traces of cleanser and tighten and tone the pores. Toner leaves the skin feeling invigorated and cool.
What happens if I don’t moisturise my skin daily? Pollution, sunlight, harsh weather, air conditioning and central heating remove moisture from the skin, causing dry, dull skin.
Two litres of water daily hydrate your skin from the inside. You can also add moisture from the outside. A good moisturiser will help prevent your skin’s moisture from evaporating into the atmosphere. Massage moisturiser over your toner, to help lock in maximum moisture.
Once you have established a daily routine of Cleanse, Tone & Moisturise, you are ready to treat your skin to some extra activities, to make sure your skin looks its radiant best at all times.
Have a daily intake of two litres of water, including 2—3 glasses with Herbal Aloe Concentrate
Enjoy a diet rich in fresh fruit and vegetables
Try to have sound, restful sleep
Take a high quality supplementation programme, including vitamins and minerals
Practice a daily skin care regime
Take a brisk walk in the fresh air every day
Keep stress levels to a minimum and have a happy attitude to life in general
