Lifetime Fitness | Do I Really Need To Go To The Gym?

I really don’t understand what happened to the world. There are gyms and fitness centers left and right. They are all over the place and the worst thing is more and more people are enrolling themselves into the gym. I have nothing against gyms; however, there are times that their prices are too high, so high that the average citizen can’t afford. Thus, when considering exercise and getting fit I asked myself one specific question, “do I really need to enroll myself into a gym”?

Indeed that there are many benefits being on the gym. In the gym, there are personal trainers who may assist you on your workout routine. There are many types of equipment for you to choose from to perform your exercises. There is a clean shower room and locker room and it is also a good place to gain new friends and widen your network. But, are all those reason enough for you to spend your hard earned money?

All I am saying is, if you don’t have too much, and you are out of budget, then don’t push yourself into enrolling in a fitness club that you cannot pay in the future. Why? Simply because there are a lot of ways to become fit, to lose weight and to become healthy. Enrolling into a gym will not make you shed your fats unless you really go in there and use the machine. You should not be affected or dictated by the society on where you should spend your time being fit.

The key in achieving personal fitness and improving your health is determination. If you are determined to achieve your goals, no matter what, with a gym or without a gym, you can still be fit and healthy. It is really the determination that should drive you to change you lifestyle and be fit.

A few tips on being healthy without going to the gym is by simply going out to have a walk or run. Walking, jogging and even running are very good cardio exercises that you can do without the cross trainer or the treadmill. You just have to have a nice pair of running shoes and you are good to go. Doing such activities 30 minutes or more per day will be very good for your health

Worrying about your muscles? You can actually tone them by doing some lifting at home or by brushing the floor or cleaning your car. Also, you can do sit ups, leg curls and push ups while at the comfort of your home. Those activities will be helpful to achieve the muscle definition you want.

Remember that the gym is only a tool for you to be fit and healthy. Thus, enrolling in their programs will not make you a healthier person. You still need to have the courage, the determination and the will to move forward and exercise your body. Thus, with or without gym membership, with proper motivation you can still be healthy.
