Why Do You Lose Your Hair?



Losing your hair is something that is faced by many men (women also) and there are multiple reasons this happens. The most common type of hair loss, in both men and women is called pattern baldness (also known as androgenetic Alopecia), associated with your genetics. And while this is the most prevalent form of hair loss, there are other circumstances ranging from environmental to medical.



If you are considering a hair loss treatment, you should first check with your doctor or dermatologist to determine the reason for your hair loss. While in the above paragraph we discussed the most common reason, it is always wise to rule out medical conditions, which would normally be treated differently. By knowing the reason for your hair loss, you can take the necessary steps, and have the best chance to retain or regrow your hair.



Various Hair Loss Remedies



Once you've made a good termination for the reason of your hair loss, you'll find multiple remedies, some natural, others medical, and some which will serve purely as camouflage, termed cosmetic. Speaking with your doctor or dermatologist, can give you the assurance that the treatment you are seeking is the best one for your circumstance. Over the past several years, no doubt you've seen many advertisements, possibly entire programs, centered on the area of hair loss, and the various drugs and treatment use to remedy this condition.



Remedies which are drug-related, do not necessarily work for everyone, and a doctor who specializes in this area, most normally a dermatologist, should be consulted prior to the taking of any drugs. And while cosmetic remedies have become popular among those who have no other recourse, the cost for cosmetic hair replacement can be significant.



There are also a number of natural remedies that should be considered. The idea behind natural hair loss remedies is simply the fact that if you are losing your hair naturally, in some cases, natural remedies can be used to cure the condition. There are multiple methods including exercises to increase blood flow to the scalp, massaging the scalp to induce blood flow, and herbal treatments utilizing naturally occurring ingredients.



Natural Herbal Remedies for Hair Loss



Since this is a condition experienced by thousands, possibly millions, there are multiple remedies that can be suggested. These natural remedies can be used to either stimulate hair growth, keep the scalp healthy, or a combination of both.



HENNA: A naturally occurring herb that has been used for multiple years to maintain a healthy head of hair. This herb is normally used to condition the hair, helping to maintain healthy hair from the inside.



ALOE VERA: used for a multitude of health-related conditions, including hair loss, Aloe Vera is a traditional urban originally used by Native Americans, Caribbean's, and those from India and China. Using Aloe Vera in conjunction with wheat germ oil and coconut milk Aloe Vera has often been used as a shampoo to cleanse and heal the scalp.



JOJOBA OIL: this oil has been used successfully by multitude people who suffer from skin conditions, such as psoriasis, eczema, and dandruff.

AROMATHERAPISTS: Aromatherapy, often used in alternative medicine, often uses oils such as lavender and bay, which are massaged into the scalp, and in many cases have been shown to stimulate hair growth.



HORSETAIL: Horsetail has been a effectively used to stimulate the hair follicle, and in many cases has cured or offset male pattern baldness. This is accomplished by strengthening we care, and promoting its growth.



ROSEMARY: Rosemary is an essential oil that is massaged into the scalp, known to stimulate hair growth. Often Rosemary is combined with other essential oils, then blended into a soothing shampoo.



SAW PALMETTO: It has been proven that the hormone DHT, is associated with hair loss. Saw palmetto, can often be used effectively to block this hormone, and can be taken in pill form, massaging the scalp, or combined with other ingredients.



GINSENG: Long used throughout ancient China, ginseng can be used for a variety of ills, stimulating circulation, removing toxins, and increasing the opportunity for healthy hair growth. As with other herbs, ginseng can be used as oil, taken in capsule form, or combined with other ingredients and massage into the scalp.



This should not serve as a complete list of herbs to help cure baldness, rather as a starting point. Other herbs that have shown promise are green tea, ginkgo biloba, licorice, nettles, and sage. Because so many people suffer from baldness, some for medical reasons, others based on genetics, there are a multitude of methods to choose from, with some offering more proof than others.
