The MLM ( Multi Level Marketing ) industry is one ideally suited to high achievers.

Some people have the impression that MLM is about a lot of housewives selling consumer products to make a little extra income. Other people see the leaders who are diving top of the line luxury cars and are living the lifestyles you expect to see for the rich and famous.

Both of these pictures are true.

Many people look at a business and ask what the average person is earning.

In MLM the income is based on the numbers:
If you do 10 times what others do you can earn 10 times the money.
If you do 100 times what others do you can earn 100 times the money.

Income is based on the value you bring to the market, not on what a company believes is enough to offer to keep someone?s services.

In most industries when you over achieve you get recognition and reward and the company then sets your base rate you need before you receive bonuses at a higher level for next year.

If you have 2 or 3 big years in a row the base line set for you before you receive bonuses is often set so high that the company virtually forces you to leave and to find new challenges.

If MLM everyone works on the same plan. If you have those big years then you receive the recognition, rewards and bonuses and then next year you receive them again. If you have several big years in a row then you keep getting higher and higher income and are used as an example of what is possible within the industry. You are rewarded for the success rather than effectively being penalized for it.

For this reason high achievers are drawn to the industry. If they are strong enough to put their ego in their hip pocket for long enough to let them learn about the industry and the products. If they define their own methods of working, and prove it to be effective by their own results. If they then gather a team and teach them the process, then the high achiever in MLM can create enough income to support their families for several generations.


MLM is an industry that gives a good income for hours worked, for doing sales and support. It requires a fairly high level of personal activity and commitment and distributors need to take personal responsibility for their activities. In return it gives almost total flexibility in the times worked. It allows people to craft their business around their lifestyle rather then having to live their lives around their work.

People who are high achievers, and who are looking for a vehicle to do the things they want to do in their lives, often find MLM can be that vehicle.
