Ask yourself the following questions and answer them honestly:
Do I really want to get rid of the headache?
Seems like a silly question, but lots of people want to hang on to their headaches - they are great excuses to cop out of many things.
Specifically target your headache - does it pound over one eye, does it throb each time you bend over, do you have a dull ache at the base of your neck? Now, close your eyes and have someone read the next questions to you.
What is the size of your headache?
Try to imagine the exact dimensions - start with the length from the front of your face to the back of your head, the width from ear to ear and the thickness from the top of your neck down to your neck.
What is the color of your headache?
How much water will your headache hold? In your mind, visually fill a cup with the amount of water needed to fill the area of the headache.
Pour the water from the cup into the space of your headache. That done, open your eyes, and you should have experienced away your headache.
I have actually experienced this exercise and was surprised by the wonderful results.
Two tart suggestions: Dip a large cloth in vinegar, wring it out and tie tightly around the forehead until the headache disappears.
Peel the rind off a lemon, making the pieces as wide as possible. Rub the inside of the rind on your forehead and temples.
Place the rinds on the forehead and temples, secure with a scarf or bandage. Keep in place until the headache goes away, usually within a half-hour.
Press your thumb against the roof of your mouth for 4 or 5 minutes, moving your thumb to another section of the roof of your mouth every so often. The nerve pressure in your head should be greatly relieved.
An old American remedy - swallow a teaspoon of honey mixed with 1/2 teaspoon of garlic juice.
Strawberries contain salicylates, which are related to the active ingredients in aspirin.
Thumbs up! Rub the second joint of each thumb for two minutes, totaling about 10 minutes. Use hand lotion to eliminate friction.
Have someone slowly move his thumb down the right side of your back, alongside your shoulder blade and toward your waist.
When he hits a tender spot, have him exert steady pressure on that spot for a minute. This exercise should bring relief from your headache.
