Hi,

Today we are looking at a couple of targeted areas for review: Gout, with details of what it is, causes, how to deal with it, and also Liver Detox which has so many opinions available from various people that a little clarity can be useful.

On a personal level these are not issues I need to deal with so I've been doing a bit of a review over the last couple of weeks about things I should be doing.

I mentioned in past newsletters that it was time for me to get back to the gym and move some weights again.
Measurable time, we should be seeing measurable progress.
It has been about 3 months now with Monday and Friday morning sessions and the weights for the big exercises, squats and deadlifts, are now respectable again. Not numbers to put up on any noticeboard but not embarrassing.
These are big movement lifts which engage most muscle groups in the body and I'm finding now that it has become easy to reach down and pick things up off the ground again.
My shoulders and other joints had become stiff and now they have completely freed up and travel through the full range of movements smoothly. This is very pleasing.

I wondered what else I could do and checked the new Herbalife products out.
We have some new products in Australia.

How effective would that be in the long term?
I don't know.
What I do know is that after 30 years of using Herbal.life products I trust their science, and attribute not having issues with gout or liver function partly to those supplements. Also, my cholesterol and other blood readings are right in the middle of the ideal levels.
Since the other products work for me, I'm happy to add extras to my daily intake.

Checking further I find we now have "Collagen Drink Strawberry Lemonade".
As I get older I'm noticing that that my skin is pretty dry and I remember that when my parents aged their skin thinned and even a small bump against something would break the skin and cause damage.
I'd prefer not to have that problem myself so I've ordered some of the collagen drink to try out.
I'll give it a could of months and see what effect it has on my own skin.
For a long time I've felt that it is better to deal with these things before they are a problem and then not have to deal with the health issues later on.

Natural Health & Beauty Recipes

Healthy Smoothie Recipes Perfect to use with our convenient protein powder supplement to optimize your health!

PERSIMMON SMOOTHIE
5 persimmons, without skin and seeds
2 cups orange juice
1 cup frozen berries
Blend all ingredients and serve.

PINA BANANA SMOOTHIE
1 cup pineapple juice
1/3 cups coconut milk
1 1/2 cups frozen banana slices
1/2 cups pineapple chunks
Pour liquid ingredients into the blender first. All fruit goes into blender at one time. Put cover on and blend until smooth.

PINA COLADA SMOOTHIE
1 frozen banana
1 cup milk/soymilk
1‐2 teaspoons shredded coconut
1/4 cups chopped or crushed pineapple (fresh is best, but canned is pretty good too)
Blend.

PINEAPPLE BUTTERMILK SMOOTHIE
20 ounces unsweetened pineapple chunks
1 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons liquid sweetener
Mint leaves‐‐optional
Drain pineapple, reserving 1/2 cups juice.
Freeze pineapple chunks.
Place juice, buttermilk, vanilla, sweetener and frozen pineapple into a blender container.
Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and garnish with mint if desired.

Detoxification and Liver Support

The liver is one of the most important organ of our body that works tediously to assist in digestion and in building up of body tissues. It stores important vitamins and minerals for the body which help to build the body’s immunity.

The liver is constantly processing vast quantities of food and fluids in order to efficiently separate out nutritional components needed by the body from what will be waste products.
