Optimum Health Tip:

Keeping Health Simple.

Carry a little sport bottle at all times. If you feel hungry, take a drink. This works great, for example, when you're at your desk or computer as it helps to curb your appetite.

Eat a Good Breakfast, people who skip breakfast burn 5 percent fewer calories than those who eat a healthy morning meal.

Substitute activity for eating. When the cravings hit, go to the gym or health club if possible; or clean, or walk around the block.

Include two fruits or vegetables in every meal or snack. You'll feel fuller and cut back on calories from other foods.

Motivating Quotes:

"Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."
- Antoine de St. Exupery

"You will do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm."
- Colette

Top 9 Invigorating Tricks for Having More Energy Every Day

Your busy lifestyle can make finding more energy a challenge. However, these invigorating tricks will boost your energy and help keep you going.

Try these tips to maintain the energy you need for your hectic life:

1. Create a regular exercise schedule and stick to it.

Exercise is one of the easiest ways to find more energy on a daily basis.

Exercise boosts metabolism and helps you avoid feeling sluggish.

A regular exercise schedule is essential for seeing results. However, you can try different workouts and classes to keep things interesting.

2. Balance your breakfast with both carbohydrates and protein.

Eating a bagel with coffee may be easy in the morning, but you'll have more energy if you add peanut butter or meat to the bagel. Balancing carbs with protein gives you more energy throughout the day.

Your breakfast matters in the hunt for more energy. A combination of carbohydrates and protein is one of the best ways to start the day.

Do you love yogurt? Do you crave toast in the morning? You can combine yogurt with toast for a more balanced meal. Eggs and toast are another common breakfast staple that works.

3. Try to catch the sunlight. Sunlight can be an invigorating force.

The brain relies on light to determine sleep and wakefulness patterns. By spending more time in the sun, you can find more energy.

At least 30 to 40 minutes of sunlight a day can make a big difference in energy levels.

4. Use essential oils. Essential oils have the power to change moods and affect stress levels.

Essential oils can be smelled or used on the skin. They can provide an instant energy boost.

Citrus is a popular aromatherapy choice because it has an uplifting aspect to it.

Basil can also help you because it wakes up the mind. Eucalyptus, mint, and rosemary are also useful aromatherapy oils for more energy.

5. Add sweet potatoes to your meals. Sweet potatoes offer potassium and keep energy levels balanced.

They're also a good source of other vitamins and minerals. They're known for having high levels of vitamin A.

6. Drink green tea. Green tea has an important amino acid that is linked to helping people stay more energized.

7. Mash chia seeds and add them to smoothies. Chia seeds are high in protein and minerals.

Mashing chia seeds can make them easier to drink in your smoothies. You can also add them to your food. Sprinkle the seeds on top of salads or casseroles.

8. Stay hydrated in unique ways. Water is crucial for giving you the energy to keep going during the day. However, it can be challenging to drink plain water and get the required amount.

Add fruit and flavor packets to your water to make it unique. You can combine pieces of lemon with pineapple, apple, or blackberries for a different taste.

Add more watermelon to your diet. If you're trying to stay hydrated, watermelon can help you achieve the goal. It has high water content and gives you more energy.

9. Snack on nuts throughout the day. Are you looking for a fast way to get more energy? Nuts have protein and vitamins. They're a fast and convenient way to get an energy boost at work or at home.

The nutrients in nuts can create lasting energy that goes on for hours.

Simple tricks can help you discover more energy in your day. These tips will help you stay alert and focused.

Healthy Recipe:

A Healthy Nut Milk Shake

If you're a Dairy Queen fanatic, I understand the compulsion. It's hard to beat a soft serve on a hot day or with a hot date.

Unfortunately, most desserts and snacks made with traditional, pasteurized dairy and sugar are anything but healthy for your body.

But don't despair because I have a great alternative for you, an easy and delicious recipe:

Health Nut Milk Shake

3/4 cup almonds, soaked 2-8 hours or
3/4 cup cashews, soaked 1-2 hours
4 dates, soaked 1-2 hours (save soak water)
3-4 peeled frozen bananas
3 cups cold filtered water or apple juice

Optional flavorings:

1 tsp non-alcoholic vanilla extract
2 Tbs raw carob powder
A few fresh berries
1 tsp ground cinnamon

In blender, combine nuts, dates and water or juice until smooth.

Break frozen banana into pieces, add to mixture and blend until smooth.

Add one or more optional flavors if desired.

Pour into glasses. Serves 4.

Note: When making your favourite healthy fruit smoothies, adding some protein powder or healthy nutritional supplement powder to recipes helps to make them superfoods!

Homemade Milk and Sea Salt Bath

Want Luxurious Skin? This milk bath is great for all skin types.

1 cup of instant dried skim milk
3/4 cup of either fine or coarse sea salt
20 - 25 drops of fragrance oil if desired or 15 - 20 drops of essential oils

Instructions: Place the dried milk and sea salt into a large bowl.

Mix well. Scoop out about 1/2 cup or so and place into small bowl.

Sprinkle your fragrance or essential oils over the top of this mixture and stir well. Add this back into the main bowl and thoroughly mix. Store your milk bath in a glass jar with a tight fitting lid.

Now just scoop out about 1/3 cup and dissolve under running bath water. Jump in and relax!

This recipe makes enough for about 5 or 6 baths. ENJOY!!!

Editor’s Notes & Humor:

Energize Yourself.

- Energy starts with a good night's sleep. If you don't get the rest you need you'll never have any energy.

- For a lasting energy, snack on protein foods like skinless poultry, fish and pasta.

- Avoid sugar type snacks.

- A coke, a cup of coffee or other beverages with caffeine will give you a quick temporary boost of energy but if you take too much you will feel worse later on when the caffeine wears off.

- Since sleep is a source of energy be sure to avoid alcohol or caffeine close to bed time to assure you of a better quality of sleep. - If it is possible, take a short nap in early afternoon. You will be surprised at how well you will feel, often better than when you first get up in the morning.
