The reality of the Herbalife is different from normal sales companies.
Some of the results you will see people get on the products will amaze you. If you have experiences like I have they you will have people you help with products who genuinely believe they would have died from their health issues if they had not found Herbalife.
This is very powerful. It makes you feel good about what you do for a living.
The successful distributors in Herbalife all know that the products are powerful as they have all experienced changes in their own life.
When you purchase an International Business Pack (IBP) you will receive some products with it.
We encourage people who are joining the company to get themselves, at wholesale, a basic set of nutrition products and then use them as if their life depended on them.
If you need to drop a little weight then be serious and use the products for weight loss.
If you don’t need to change weight then use the products for a month as a detoxification and rebuilding program and experience increased energy and wellness.
If you have experiences like I’ve had then you will have people who you help with products who genuinely believe they would have died from their health issues if they had not found Herbalife, or Herbalife had not found them.
To be successful in Herbalife you need to have a story. People will always come back to you and ask you if the products really work. Your answer is your story.
When I first started in the company I was training martial arts (Tae Kwon Do) and about to grade black belt. I was fit and strong and knew I didn’t need to use the products. My sponsor, George Knight, insisted that I experience the products for myself and within the first week I experienced enough change to give me the basis for my Herbalife business.
This was more than 10 years ago but the story is still the story.
I found my energy and stamina increased measurably. I was working hard and was always tired. With a week on products I found that I was waking up and alert rather than just dragging myself through the first hour of the day.
I was training better and dramatically stronger during the free sparing at the end of the training sessions. The energy drop outs that I was normally having mid afternoons just disappeared.
I just felt better.
THIS is the story that I took back to the market. I knew I did not need the products myself but, if I had not used them then I would probably not still be in the business.
This is a very important point. I have not asked for trust from you as we talk about Herbalife as we have the facts to back up what we say.
I do want you to trust me on this, if you are not going to use the products yourself and do your proper Due Diligence and trail the products for yourself, then save everyone time and effort and walk away from Herbalife now.
Using the products does not guarantee success but not using the products is a virtual guarantee of failure.
I don’t have the time
You need to get into Mutli-level marketing at the ground floor, at start up, to make any money.
The economy is bad, people don’t have money to do this now
The market is saturated so there is no room for growth
People are stretched by debt and interest payments and cannot afford to buy products
This business is just Pyramid Selling
Only the people at the top of the business make money
He/She is too good, too wealthy, to be interested in this
Do the products really work or is it just placebo?
I don’t have the time
Herbalife is one of the most flexible companies you will ever find.
Skills you do not have yourself, you can recruit.
If you are not overweight then how do you get a weight loss story?
You find someone who is overweight and help them lose weight.
You then have the weight loss story to tell.
If you don’t have time, but you bring other skills to the table, then recruit someone who has the time and show them what to do.
We have doctors and lawyers working with us, executives and professionals.
We have lots of nurses, teachers, secretaries and sales managers. We have students and we have retired people.
We have people who have never worked in sales before who are doing great.
We have people who have been too sick to work anywhere else who have had great results on Herbalife products and are now earning good part time income while still recovering from their problems.
If you have good skills but little time then we have a place for you. You can keep doing the things that currently eat up your time and instead of building a big retail business, which takes time, then focus more on having fewer customers and recruiting some people who you can help build business.
Whaterver the difficulties are that are keeping you trapped in your current circumstances, there is an answer for you to start getting free within the Herbalife marketing system.
You need to get into Mutli-level marketing at the ground floor, at start up, to make any money.
I hear this and it amazes me.
Do you know that around 90% of direct sales companies fail in the first 2 years and 5 years after starting 95% have faded into the sunset?
Some are poorly conceived, some have poor management, many are in a market niche and the market moves on or the big companies in the field bring out products to compete that can be picked up in any supermarket.
With good companies their success is often their downfall, they grow too fast and cannot finance the growth. When a few payments are missed for fast growing companies then the whole things starts to spin out of control.
Often the best companies do great for a while and then someone comes along and offers the owner/founder enough money to keep their family in comfort for several generations and they sell out.
What ever the reason, if you tie yourself to a start up company with a “ground floor” opportunity the facts are that you are almost guaranteed to fail as the company will not be there in the long term to pay you on the business that you have built!
The economy is bad, people don’t have money to do this now
When things are looking bad, interest rates are high, people are losing their houses then you find that may businesses tighten up and there are fewer jobs and fewer opportunities. Finance to start a new venture is difficult to get.
This is the time when the best people get into Multi Level Marketing.
People who have been doing just fine come to a point where the pieces are not fitting together any more, the high paying consultancy is cancelled, someone with a business finds that a couple of their key clients go bankrupt and disappear without paying their account and suddenly there is crisis.
Crisis is what makes people put aside their ego and look at things with clear vision.
They ask, “Will my friends down at the club pay my children’s school fees?” The answer is obviously no.
“Will my family with their professional careers make by car payments for me?” The answer is obviously no.
At this point people get very clear on what they need to do to survive financially and to have some form of income that is secure because they have control of it through their own activity.
Herbalife is an opportunity that allows people to continue doing what they are doing and to add an additional income stream next to it. Surveys suggest that 60% of personal bankruptcies could be avoided for just $200 or $300 a month of additional income.
In these situations people need to create cashflow fast and most businesses take a long time to build up and become profitable. With Herbalife, building a customer base of just 20 people on a nutrition program will, in most countries, give an income similar to what the average person is earning. In need the high achievers go and do that and at the same time recruit some people to work with them and mentor them to do what they did.
With 20 customers and 5 supervisors who each have 20 customers there is a foundation for business that can be built to give second and third layer business and income can go to $10,000 a month, $25,000 a month and on to President Team incomes.
It is during times of stress and crisis when some of the best people run into their own personal crisis and look for something that they can do immediately to get quick results. They are interested to start up a business that they can control through their own personal activity.
In many ways the bad times are the best times for building a Herbalife business.
The market is saturated so there is no room for growth
Herbalife has been around for a long time now and has a very solid foundation of business.
One of the distributors who has worked together with me since I first joined Herbalife, David Exon, was talking to someone on the internet who asked about the company and products and then signed up as a distributor.
She lives in Los Angeles, about one kilometer from Herbalife’s head office. Only once has anyone ever discussed Herbalife with her. That was about six years ago and she didn't like the look of the person talking with her so she was not interested.
While Herbalife is now a huge company there are still hundreds of millions of people in the existing markets who don’t know anything about the company.
After taking my family away traveling for a year I came back to Australia and needed to re-establish a customer base and build some new business to get things where I wanted them to be. I talked to a lot of people. As I talked with them I kept records.
At that time Herbalife had been in Australia for around 25 years and I was amazed to find that nearly half the people I spoke either had not heard our name or could not recall hearing anything about the about the company, 70% of the people had no idea even what area of business Herbalife was in and only about 5% of people had any direct experience of Herbalife products.
We are not even beginning to reach a saturation point after 25 years so there is a very long way to go before we are even close to holding our potential market share.
People are stretched by debt and interest payments and cannot afford to buy products
In Australia the cost of buying lunch in the street is between $6.00 & $12.00. The cost of using a full nutrition program is $6.00 to $10.00. For people who are working it is cheaper to be on Herbalife products than to buy lunch.
If someone is needing the products then they will use them.
If they are looking for weight loss, Herbalife is the biggest weight control company in the world. Joining a gym is $100, $200, $400 a month, often they have 6 month or 12 month memberships that cost thousands and if you don’t attend then you just waste your money.
Don’t get me wrong, gyms are good but with Herbalife you buy one month of products, see the results and then buy another month. You know what you are getting and you can track the results.
When people see others using the products and getting results they want what the other people have. Word of mouth is the driving force of Herbalife sales.
You work to show someone all about the products and support them and they do well, take of 5 kg in their first month and then another 3 or 4 kg in their second month.
They change, they have better shape, their faces are slimmer, they have more energy. You do that first sale and support it and then a whole range of people are asking questions about the products and interested to use them.
In other words we tell the stories and explain things but the products sell them selves. Herbalife is a “results driven company”.
This business is just Pyramid Selling
This is another thing people say. I feel like thanking them for their opinion and just letting them keep it but we really do need to answer these questions.
Generally I will ask people if they can tell me what pyramid selling is. No one asking this question has ever answered me because if they knew what pyramid selling was then they never would ask the question.
Pyramid selling traditionally is a business plan that does not have a product. The classic chain letter includes a list of 5 or 6 people and tells you to send $5 to the person on the top of the list.
You should then cross that name off the top, add your name to the bottom and send it out to a whole batch of people. When your name gets to the top of the list you will get lots of letters with $5 notes in them flooding your mailbox. Who knows, it may even work but it is pyramid selling and it is illegal.
Another form of Pyramid selling is a lot more nasty. It has one person buy a product, normally in bulk, and sells it on to other people at a slightly higher price. That person then sells it on to another person and a still higher price. This continues until you find someone with a garage full of stock that they have paid too much for and will never be able to sell.
This is bad because people get hurt.
When you look at Herbalife you will see that it is different because everyone purchases directly from Herbalife and the market plan is clearly laid out. You have clear steps to become a supervisor and all supervisors at all levels buy the products directly from Herbalife at exactly the same price.
The top distributor in the world and the brand new supervisor each pay the same price. This is completely different to the nasty marketing practice of pyramid selling.
Aside from that we do not need to rely on opinion. The Herbalife marking plan has been approved by the regulatory authorities and business bureau’s in all of the more than 60 countries where Herbalife is doing business. The governments have given Herbalife their tick of approval. No Problem.
Only the people at the top of the business make money

The Herbalife market plan is based on the principle "Those who do the work, get the pay.”
Half of the retail sale price is left with the supervisor who is selling the product. They either receive the 50% themselves or they share it with the distributors they have sponsored as they train them and help them to become supervisors also.
The time it takes to become a supervisor varies from person to person but many people chose to begin their business with some stock and working seriously and go straight to supervisor level. Others build up customers and a distributor base before becoming supervisor, some people chose never to become a supervisor but just keep their Herbalife as a little cashflow business.
The normal sort of time frame for people to become a supervisor is 2 to 6 weeks, sometimes up to 10 weeks. I mention this as the 50% discount level is set for people to show they are serious but it does not normally take very long to achieve it.
Royalties are paid 3 layers of supervisors deep.
The man who established Herbalife was the first distributor. His distributor is at the top of every line of distributors. I know my first 5 sponsors. I think there are 10 or so up to Mark’s distributorship. That means that my 3 direct sponsors get royalties on the business I personally produce.
The people above do not. This means that new people who get into Herbalife right now and are part of the ongoing growth of the company can make more money than the people who have been in the business for 20 years. Those who do the work, get the pay.
Go and have another look at our market plan and you will see that it is designed for people to start from scratch and to do well quickly.
He/She is too good, too wealthy, to be interested in this
I believe the American Indians have a saying, ”Before you judge someone, walk a mile in his moccasins”. I always liked that because when the conflict came you would be a mile away and you would have his shoes but in this case is really does apply.
You see a successful lawyer, businessman, senior executive and you think that they are so far ahead of where you are that they would never be interested in something like Herbalife.
Imagine a high profile, Jewish, lawyer living in London with his family all in the law and living in a home that backing on to Buckingham Palace. Imagine if he was well respected and a director of a bank. He would have it all? Now picture him married to a top international model.
This is Alan Lorenz.
He was caught up in a financial situation that was getting harder and harder. His wife, Carol, had fallen off a catwalk and hurt her back so she was not working, his business was not doing what he needed it to do, the banks were talking about foreclosing on his on his house next to Buckingham palace.
He was in a restaurant and saw a lady he knew with a button that said, “Lose weight now, ask me how.” He asked, got on some products, lost some weight and some inches, felt better.
Being a lawyer he found someone in his sponsorship line who really knew the business and properly investigated it. What he found amazed him and he became a serious distributor.
He in now one of the top President Team members in Herbalife, he was the fist man to earn over US$100,000 a month in royalty income. His current income is over a quarter of a million a month and has been for 10 years.
I know this because I met Alan very early in my Herbalife career and on the little 3 minute video about taking my family traveling around the world that Herbalife put together, the voiceover is done by Alan.
The point here is that the lady who sponsored him loved the products and had retail customers but she never really “got” the business. Alan says he is the only serious distributor she ever sponsored and she is still earning over $30,000 a month from her royalties just from the business in his organization!!
A lot of people who look great are “all show and no dough”. They present well but they’re searching for a way to make more money to support it.
A lot of people in top level jobs and careers feel trapped and desperate. They make great money but they do not have a life. Their children are growing up without them and their life is just passing them by. I have often hear the phrase, “What do I have to do to buy my life back?”
Is it easy for these people to put their ego in their hip pocket and put on a little Herbalife badge? Of course not, but the reason they got ahead in the first place is that they are smart and prepared to work hard. Those traits applied to the Herbalife business can get them to the very top.
Don’t pre-judge people.
