Getting started with advertising a website using Job Boards. By Warren Tattersall
1. Go to Yahoo and register about 5 separate accounts. Eg email@example.com, YourDogsName@yahoo.com etc
2. List the names and the access codes on a word doc and store on your computer somewhere you can find it. Use the same access code for all accounts and have notification for them come to your normal account.
3. You will receive notification that the account has been set up and will need to open each mail to confirm that account.
4. You now need to set up some places to advertise your site: Go to www.craigslist.com and register each account on there. The go to www.backpage.com and do the same. By the time you have this there will probably be other sites that are being used as well so check what is about.
5. You will need to open each of your Yahoo accounts and confirm the registration for the ad sites and then you should not need to open those accounts again in the near future.
6. When that is settled, go onto Craigslist and you can begin placing ads. Initially you want to just do 1 ad per account. Do this each day that you can organize it for a week or so and this will get your account established. They do not like MLM or any position that is not a wage position so if someone does not like your ad they can “flame” you. This means they have clicked on your ad and flagged it as unsuitable and it is then automatically removed. When I first did some new accounts I took a couple and put up 4 or 5 ads for 3 different ads. 2 days later ALL the ads were flamed out and there was nothing left up. Doing 1 ad per site for a few days lets things stabilize then there seems to be little problem.
7. When doing ads on craig’s I open up the main board and log in to one of my accounts. Click back to the main board. On the right hand side they list countries and they list the US cities. Under the US cities it says “more”. When you click on that you get a list of about 300 cities in the US. I suggest that you click on the first one and then chose the first city (but not SF Bay Area as that has a charge and I am doing ALL my advertising on FREE sites. Go to the next one and the ad is free). Then click on the “Post to Classified” and then chose either a specific category or “Sales” and place an ad.
After that is you click on the city name at the top you can go straight to the “more” link and do another or click on “my account” and log out and then into another account”. Just do one ad per account for the first week or so until the account is recognized as an established account. Each time you go to the “More” link to see more cities then you will see the cities you have been to will be highlighted as “visited” by your own computer so you know which one to do next.
After a few days you can put several ads up per account. When you get the rhythm you should find you can put up 15 or 20 ads in 20 min. If you did 30 min several times a week you will get responses but keep contact with me to let me know what is working an what is not working and we will fine tune the process for you.

9. Another is www.backpage.com but I have not figures that out yet.
10. For more targeted ads I registered at http://www.freeresumesites.com/ where there are a lot of other sites listed. YOU can access that site with using “wtattersall” and “thehealthsuccess” access code. It has the boards listed with the profession categories shown as well, so is worth playing with those sites to look for something targeted to your specific interest or your area of expertise or location.

this gives you a good reason to promote your web profile page to people wanting answers to their alternative health questions, by linking back to your main page in your signature at the bottom of the text box when you type your answers, but also you can link to any page of your website section as a 'reference source' when you answer questions...
so when we have set up your article resource directories from your home page, and added the articles on each one, you will be able to link back to specific articles to promote your page without being painfully obvious about the self-promotion.

d - create a MySpace or Facebook page that focuses on your health nutrition etc. or as a work-from-home-mom angle... and make sure you visit your 'friends' and leave messages that also have a link to your website so that THEIR friends can also visit. I get visitors every month just from that article alone. And this is how I have over 5,000 links to my name when you google it. All just from a few articles on directories here and there, and some MySpace comments on 'friends' pages etc etc.
g - if you know quite a bit about a health or business or other subject, you can put together 20 pages of information and I'll publish it into a Free Report / eBook for you to offer your website visitors and to share around to everyone you know.... YOUR website links and contact details will be embeded inside the ebook report so that when millions of people are sharing it around and reading it world wide, they can just click a link inside the book to visit your site, buy the products you mention, register the business etc etc etc. Its a bit of work for me but I do it free in exchange for having links to my other websites listed in the back page of the reports, like I have for Warrens 25 free health reports...
You can then also go to Craig's List and offer the report as a free download for their visitors. They can either visit your site for the download link, or you give the download link out in the posting... the main point is to spread your free report around like crazy so that people share it, read it, get pre-sold on the products, click the links, buy the goods.
h - forums: make sure you go to here http://www.network54.com and leave some comments about health and some more postings about Business with your website pages and your name in the postings. This forum page I started years ago gets indexed by the search engines quickly... it wont get your site a lot of visitors, but it gets your page recognized so that search engines start to offer YOUR PAGE as a search result for web surfers....
I - MLM forums: go here and get registered http://www.freeadvertisingforum.com so that you can put as many postings as you want on this forum, it gets traffic and links to your website page... especially useful if you want to promote the business side, which I never have yet.... you can visit here every day if you want, and place recruiting posts....
J - the job is to PROMOTE THE SITE – specifically YOUR pages and article pages .... so that the site can then CONVERT & PRE-SELL those people to your products and recruiting... so that they then CONTACT YOU .... and you close them like always...

As a matter of fact, unless your product or service and the Newsgroups topic have a perfect fit, it's better not to use them. You will have to read

 UNSOLICITED E-MAIL
If you send un-targeted e-mail to anyone, and don't provide your name,
reply e-mail address and a way to be removed, that's named spam
My advice is no to use it, not only for moral issues, but because it doesn't work, you will end loosing your ISP, your web sites and hours of hard work.
A different thing is to write to targeted lists of people that have specifically accepted to receive your e-mail. (Although most of them accept your email
because they want to receive some free gift offered to tempt them, and
so are a low motivated un-targeted market)
Lets be direct: how many times do YOU click over a banner?
A banner to be of any use has to be:

# It has to be animated to catch attention

Here is a three step process that will allow you to get lots of traffic to your website:
(1) Approach a high traffic blogger and ask if you can be a contributor to their blog for a particular blog post or topic.
(2) Write an EXCELLENT blog post that will get people’s attention (especially on these high traffic blogs).
(3) Leave a bio box or a link that traces back to your own site.
Now, the question you may ask is, why don’t you reserve the best content for your OWN blog? Wouldn’t that brand you better?
Well this is actually selfish thinking… good things must be shared, not hidden under a basket.
High traffic blogs give you more exposure!
If you have a blog that has low traffic, it will not reach out to many people but if you give your content away to others, high traffic will get you noticed and if they LIKE your blog post, they will spread the word (using ‘social bookmarking’ sharing) and you will get a lot of traffic to your site very quickly!
You can also design your own blog theme and give it away for free!
One thing wonderful about free blog themes is that if it is given away for free and it is used by someone’s blog, a few things can happen:
• They upload your blog theme and there is a backlink to YOUR site.
• Those who upload your blog theme will be able to follow a link from the Wordpress Presentation Theme and you can promote yourself even from there.
• People will recommend your blog theme if it looks beautiful!
Web 2.0 Viral Marketing
One of the newest yet oldest form of viral marketing is the usage of E-mail and Web 2.0 sites.
Remember the video called ‘Numa Numa’ who had this guy lip-syncing to a song… it was one of the MOST VIRAL VIDEOS of all time.
The owner of the site had TONS of traffic flooding into his site everyday and people everywhere WANT to imitate him and do their own parodies of the ‘Numa Numa Dance’ as well.
Another good example is the ‘Diet Coke & Mentos’ scenario.
Basically, when you have something interesting or extreme, people will tend to share it with their friends through forwarded E-mails, but in the case of Internet marketing, you can do a lot more if you play your cards right.
Facebook drives a lot of traffic as well because of the way they link applications and photos (tagging). For example, you can join an application for a game that builds empires using ‘GOLD’. They offer you MORE gold when you refer your friends to that application. That is how they build their list!
You can do the same by driving traffic to your opt-in forms, landing pages or blogs and you will be able to build viral traffic very quickly!
Remember that the ultimate goal of Viral Marketing is to leverage on others through the power of the Internet!
